Vivek Chellappa

Vivek Chellappa began learning mridangam at the age of six from Sri R. Kannan. He has also taken lessons from Sri. Anoor Dattatreya Sharma of Bangalore and Kalaimamani Guruvayur Sri Dorai. He is currently a student of Sri KV Gopalakrishan.

Vivek has been performing in mridangam and kanjira since 2004, with leading musicians in the United States and India, including Dr M. Balamuralikrishna, Smt Sudha Raghunathan, and the Mysore Brothers. Vivek is an anesthesiologist in Newport Beach, California.
