Rigved Barve

Rigved Barve is born and brought up in Cupertino, California, USA and is currently a rising third-year undergrad student at Santa Clara University, studying biology in the Bay Area. Rigved started learning Hindustani Classical Music at the age of six and took his early music lessons from Shrimati Anumapa Chandratreya and Shri Manoj Tamhankar. For the last 7 years, he has been a disciple of Dr. Pt. Raja Kale (the senior-most disciple of late Padmashri Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki), and is taking rigorous and advanced training from Panditji.

He has also learned the tabla for 11 years, under the guidance of Shri Satish Tare and Ustad Arshad Syed. Additionally, he is a self-taught harmonium player for the last 7 years, and has recently started taking advanced guidance from Shri. Vivek Datar.

Rigved regularly performs in numerous concerts, at prestigious venues and festivals across the USA and various places in India (San Diego, Mumbai, Pune, Indore, Hubli etc), and has won several awards for his vocal, harmonium and tabla performances in many competitions over the last 14 years.

Rigved is passionate about sharing his knowledge, and teaches and mentors numerous students and strives to preserve and promote the spread of Indian Classical Music.
