Jimmy Sudekum

Jimmy Sudekum is a video editor and producer based in Los Angeles, though music has always been his first language. A lifelong instrumentalist rooted in marching band and classical guitar, he arrived at Hindustani music through sitar study under Paul Livingstone, one of the few American disciples of Pt. Ravi Shankar. Workshops and private lessons with Ramakant Gundecha pulled him deeper still, opening a door into the ancient world of dhrupad he has not stopped walking through since.

That immersion led him, as if by inevitability, to the rudra veena. He has studied the instrument under Madhuvanti Pal in the Bishnupur Gharana tradition, and in 2025 had a Bishnupur-style rudra veena built under her direction. The Festival of Tabla marks his debut public performance on it.
