Jayanta Banerjee

Jayanta Banerjee is an internationally acclaimed Sitarist and Music Composer whose concerts have reached audiences and stalwarts all around. Not only a Sitarist, but Jayanta Banerjee is an expert in playing different musical instruments like Sarod, Harmonium, Keyboards and is a melodious singer too.

He has curated his own festival "Sambandh" that brings dance, music and theatre under one roof, propagating art and the Baithaki culture. The festival has over 100 musicians and dancers associated with it. He is one of the few to have bagged Apple Inc. His rhythm on the sitar is used for the app "Nagma Live" owned by Apple Inc.

Jayanta started his journey under the able guidance of Shri Amit Prasanna Mukhopadhyay. Later continued his training under the tutelage of Shri Devi Prasad Chattopadhyay. Progressing ahead, he continued to receive his training in both Rampur Gharana and Maihar Gharana under the guidance of Pt. Santosh Bandopadhyay, later advancing his learning under Pandit Robi Chakroborty, disciple of Ustad Ali Akbar Khan Saheb.
