Rohit Panchakshari

Rohit A. Panchakshari began his musical journey in Nashik, India, under the guidance of Pt. Bhanudas Pawar and Nitin Pawar. Drawn to the profound depth of the Punjab Gharana, he has been studying under Guru Narendra Khot, a senior disciple of the legendary Ustad Allarakha Khansaheb. His pursuit of excellence continues through advanced taalim with Guru Pt. Supreet Deshpande, a torchbearer of the Farrukhabad tradition and disciple of Pt. Kiran Deshpande and Taalyogi Pt. Suresh Talwalkar. Rohit has been deeply blessed to receive the guidance of Tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain for over a decade, participating in his annual masterclasses—an experience that continues to shape his musical vision. Balancing tradition with innovation, Rohit complements his artistic path with academic rigor. He holds a Ph.D. in Immunology from Harvard Medical School and currently works in Translational Sciences at Johnson & Johnson in San Diego, bringing the same devotion to science as he does to music.
