Rohit Kalale

At a young age, Rohit commenced his study of the tabla under the guidance of Shree Bheemashankar Bidanur, a disciple of Pt K.S. Hadapada, Pt. Puttaraja Gawai and Pt. Ravindra Yavagal. Imbibing the unique blend of his guru's multifaceted influences, Rohit’s studies under Shree Bheemshankar Bidanur carried on for 10 years in the city of Mysore, where he performed on stages across Karnataka.
During this time, Rohit was also privileged to receive direct guidance and mentorship from Pandit Rajeev Taranath in the maestro's own residence. At present, he is a rising junior at UCSD and has been advancing his tabla studies under the tutelage of Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri.
