Rohan Ramanan

Rohan Ramanan is a Southern California-based vocalist/instrumentalist who specializes in multiple styles and genres. He actively performs Indian & Western classical, choral, commercial, and world/fusion music both live and for studio sessions as a tenor & countertenor (SAG-AFTRA, AGMA). He has studied Hindustani voice for nearly two decades in the Kirana Gharana, under the tutelage of Smt. Usha Sathe. Rohan also concertizes as a professional oboist/English horn player, and received his degree in instrumental performance from UC Irvine. He maintains a private studio that he lovingly named ‘Arohana’, through which he teaches voice & oboe as well as general music theory, keyboard, and musicianship skills.

Professional highlights include the role of Manoj Mukherjee in Houston Grand Opera’s premiere of ‘Another City’, score recordings for Disney, Marvel, & National Geographic, and live performances with LA Philharmonic/Master Chorale, Gustavo Dudamel, Tiësto, Disney Parks, Michael Giacchino, Kronos Quartet, South Asian Symphony, Shillong Chamber Orchestra, Michael Kiwanuka, Ganavya, 30 Seconds to Mars, Rufus Wainwright, Shahkar, Street Symphony, Stewart Copeland, & Björk!
