Ravi Deo

Ravi Deo is a dynamic tabla artist, composer, and educator, carrying forward the legacy of his guru, the late Pt. Rameshji Kumar. His approach to performance is shaped by the guidance of esteemed tabla mentors Professor Abhiman Kaushal and Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri, and further enriched by his relationships with late Dr. Gopal Marathe, Smt. Anjani Ambegaonkar, and Ud. Aashish Khan. Deeply committed to bridging generations and communities through the performing arts, Ravi’s work spans classical performance, contemporary collaboration, and intercultural composition, reflecting a vision of living and evolving tradition.

Deo was featured as a soloist in the inaugural Festival of Tabla and has since been invited as an accompanist for a range of performances. His appearances at FOT have highlighted his sensitivity, range, and command of the instrument, contributing to the festival’s mission of showcasing excellence in tabla performance across styles and generations.
