Pali Kalsi began his musical journey from a young age learning from various respected teachers. His tabla practise reached new heights when he started learning from his highly esteemed teacher Ustad Surdarshan Singh Ji. This also gave him the opportunity to learn the Jori Pakhawaj which gives him the unique blend of both the Benares and Punjab Gharana.
