David Myles Lewis grew up in a musical family. His father, Michael Lewis, an internationally renowned tabla player and member of Zakir Hussain’s Rhythm Experience, exposed him to world music from an early age. David started playing piano in second grade and began composing at the age of eight. By twelve, he took up the drum set and spent years crafting his own distinct style.

A solid, articulate, and dynamic drummer, Lewis is a seasoned player who has become one of the most sought-after live and studio musicians in Los Angeles. He has performed and recorded with some of the biggest names in music, including jazz icons Mike Stern, Joe Lovano, and Richard Bona, rock artists Vince Neil (Motley Crue), Robby Krieger (The Doors), George Thorogood, and world music groups Arohi Ensemble, The Salar System Collective, and Sheila E.

In 2011, David formed his jazz quintet, The Dave Lewis Group, and released a solo album featuring some of the most recognized jazz musicians in the world. Lewis also spent over ten years performing with Mirror Talk, an electro pop group, releasing five albums and making a considerable impact on LA’s music scene. He is also a longtime member of the Indian world fusion group, Arohi Ensemble.

After a decade of performing and touring, David was drawn to the world of music production and film scoring. He co-wrote and produced Madame Gandhi’s “Waiting for Me” which won best music video at SXSW 2021.

David Myles Lewis is a versatile and accomplished composer and producer for visual media. He has written music for all major networks, including ABC, NBC, CBS, Netflix, Hulu, Peacock, Bravo, FOX and Paramount Plus.

David recently finished scoring "Jack and Lou" starring Lisa Kudrow, and has worked in the music department for several noteworthy projects, including "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" (Netflix) "The Kissing Booth 3" (Netflix) "No Ordinary Life" (CNN) and "Held" (Magnolia Pictures). He also scored the official trailer for the film NYAD (Netflix).

Lewis is an in demand composer at Burnett Music where he is featured in shows such as Survivor, The Real Love Boat, Temptation Island, Buy My House, Claim to Fame, and wrote the Main Title Theme for Generation Gap (ABC) hosted by Kelly Ripa and produced by Mark Burnett and Jimmy Kimmel. David is a remarkably intuitive and expressive storyteller, creating atmospheric soundscapes and high intensity action music with a unique percussive flavor, influenced by Indian classical music, African percussion, jazz, pop, and modern electronic music.
