Ted Morano

Ted Morano began learning Sitar in 1981 from Vasant Rai in New York City. He attended CalArts 1983-1989, where he studied Sitar with Amiya Dasgupta, and Tabla and Pakhawaj with Pt. Taranath Rao. He has also studied Dhrupad with the Gundecha Brothers. In addition to playing Sitar and Surbahar, he has accompanied many artists on Tanpura. He also provides lehara accompaniment for Tabla and Pakhawaj players on Sitar, Surbahar, Dilruba, and Harmonium.
