Jef Feldman

Jef Feldman (Pakhawaj) studied for 12 years with Pt. Taranath Rao. He likes to say it was "12 years of Christmas." His first teacher of Indian music was Harihar Rao, a sitar disciple of Pt. Ravi Shankar, with whom he founded The Music Circle. Jef is author of The Tabla Legacy of Taranath Rao and Learning Tabla with Alla Rakha. He spent a year in India as a Senior Research Fellow with the American Institute of Indian Studies. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of The Music Circle.
