Eric Carroll
Sarangi
Eric Carroll was born outside of Philadelphia, PA. Grew up a multi-instrumentalist, focusing on primarily saxophone, bass, and guitar. He fell in love with Hindustani classical music in his teens & as an adult, had the privilege of studying Hindustani Slide Guitar under Pandit Barun Kumar Pal, foremost disciple of the sitar maestro, Pandit Ravi Shankar of the Maihar Gharana. It was Barun-da who introduced him to Pankaj Mishra, with whom he has now been studying Sarangi since June of 2020.
