Ahilan Hatti

Ahilan Hatti is a rising junior at Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton, California. He initially started training on santoor at the age of seven with Rupesh Kotecha, and is currently a disciple Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya learning the intricacies of the instrument as well as exploring the depths of each raga with this hundred stringed instrument.Ahilan has also learned Hindustani classical music from Paul Livingstone for several years and continues to learn Western Jazz from him. Paul gave Ahilan an amazing foundation in the art which now helps him succeed with the maestro Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya. In addition to annual trips to Kolkata, Ahilan has traveled to perform in several cities across the United States and in Mexico. He hopes to explore the interplay of biology, psychology, and music therapy (particularly as it relates to Indian ragas) as a possible career option.
