Sheela Bringi

Sheela Bringi is a bansuri flautist, rāga harpist and vocalist. She studied with the bansuri maestro G.S. Sachdev in the Gayaki Ang style of playing flute based on Hindustani Vocal Music. She currently studies with Sachdevji’s senior student and master flute-maker, Jeff Whittier. Sheela is also a harpist and vocalist, and explores methods and techniques for using the harp in Indian music - a style she calls “Raga Harp”. She studies Hindustani Vocal with Subhashish Mukhopadyay, a topmost exponent of the Kotali Gharana. Sheela holds an MFA in North Indian Music from the California Institute of the Arts.
