Rohit Panchakshari

Rohit A. Panchakshari started learning tabla from Late Pt. Bhanudas Pawar and Nitin Pawar at the age of 8. He has learned the aesthetics of Punjab gharana from Guru Narendra Khot (disciple of maestro Ustad Allarakha Khansaheb), and is very fortunate to continue his "taalim" under the tutelage of Guru Pt. Supreet Deshpande (disciple of Farukhabad tradition torchbearer Pt. Kiran Deshpande and Taalyogi Pt. Suresh Talwalkar). Rohit is also privileged to receive guidance from world renowned tabla virtuoso Ustad Zakir Hussain when he attends his annual tabla workshops. Seeking inspiration from his gurus, in addition to his sincere commitment to music, Rohit has completed his PhD from Harvard Medical School and currently works as an Immunology Scientist at Takeda Pharmaceuticals in San Diego.
