Hemant Kulkarni

Hemant Kulkarni is a 17 year old in his Senior year of high school. As a child, he attended Satsungs where he witnessed the tabla being played which caught his attention and interest. Hemant started learning tabla with Sri Rick Hambra for 3 years. He has been studying the art with Sri Debashish Chaudhuri of the Lucknow Gharana for the last 10 years and after moving from Los Angeles to Merced, has continued with online classes. Hemant has been invited to play tabla at various temples in Los Angeles and the Bay Area and also record tabla for various bhajan recordings posted on Youtube. He was given the opportunity to accompany other local artists that sing ghazal, light classical music, Carnatic music, and Western classical music as well.
